Sankaty was named by her original owners after the Sankaty Lighthouse on Nantucket, MA. Sankaty, the sailboat, is pictured at Spray Beach Yacht Club. Peter and I met Markus and Judy for the first time after corresponding with them through the Mariner Yachts Owners Group that Peter organized. We own Sankaty's sister ship Fandango and have cruised on her as far north as Massachusetts and as far south as Maryland.
