The "Crystal Serenity World Cruise 2005 Quilt" was created onboard the Crystal Serenity during the 101 day world cruise from January 15-April 27, 2005. The quilt tells the story of the voyage from Los Angeles to London. The top of the quilt represents the sky, the middle is the horizon, and the bottom is the deep sea. For more information contact clvquilts@yahoo.com

Crystal Serenity visited Los Angeles, Honolulu, Maui, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Tahiti, Tonga, 2 stops in New Zealand, Tasmania, Melbourne, Sydney, Hamilton Island, Cairns, Thursday Island, Darwin, Brunei, Hong Kong, 3 stops in Vietnam, 3 stops in Thailand, Singapore, the Maldives, 2 stops in Egypt, 2 stops Greece, 2 stops in Turkey, Venice, Croatia, 4 more stops in Italy, Portugal, Spain, and the UK. You can see trip photos of where we've been by visiting Peter's site at www.fandango.us

Along the way, the Crystal Serenity guests made quilt blocks representing various ports- of-call and shipboard activities. Some of the blocks feature Crystal Cruises logos. Others include items collected while on shore. The quilt is a combination of traditional and contemporary blocks. It contains crazy quilt blocks, 9-patch, log cabins, as well as blocks that are needlepointed, cross-stitched, appliquéd, trapuntoed, embroidered and embellished.
